I am not flexible – Can I practice yoga?2022-08-24T15:52:58-06:00

Yes, absolutely! You don’t need to be flexible to start practicing. The use of yoga props (bolsters, blocks, straps, etc.) will allow you to practice successfully and become more flexible, stronger, and more balanced.

Which yoga class is right for me?2022-08-24T15:54:26-06:00

There are various types of classes that will fit your fitness and activity level, overall health, and motivation to practice yoga. In general, Hatha Flow and Vinyasa Yoga are more active, heat-producing classes, while Yin, Restorative, and Meditation are quieter, slower paced classes. Check out our Class Descriptions for more details or contact us if you have questions.

Do I need to sign up for the yoga class?2022-08-24T16:17:10-06:00

Signing up is fast and easy. While it is not mandatory, we highly recommend that you do sign up for your class. Class sizes are limited and we can accommodate walk-ins only if there is still space available. If you have signed up and are unable to attend, please, as a courtesy to your fellow yogis and yoginis, cancel online or let us know ahead of time. You will not be charged for canceling out of regularly scheduled group classes.

How many times per week should I practice?2022-08-24T16:19:02-06:00

You will experience the benefits of your yoga practice, even if you practice once per week. If you can practice two or three times per week you will certainly experience more benefits.

Is there yoga etiquette?2022-08-24T16:19:27-06:00

While there are no rules, there are certain things to remember:

  • Arrive 10-15 minutes before class starts to give yourself time to roll out your mat, grab your yoga toys (blocks, straps, blanket, etc.), and get settled from a busy day. Please be aware that arriving late is very disruptive to a class.
  • Please turn off your cell phone and all other electronics.
  • Please remove your shoes in the entry area, before entering the classroom.
  • If you use a studio mat, after class please wipe off your mat with our mat cleaner to keep things sanitary.
  • Return all yoga props neatly in the appropriate places.
  • Keep an open mind and have fun!
What should I bring to yoga?2022-08-24T16:19:55-06:00

Bring a yoga mat, some water, and wear comfortable stretchy clothing that is not too loose. If you don’t have your own mat, you are welcome to use one of the studio mats at no charge. Athletic shoes are not needed; yoga is practiced barefoot.

Should I eat before yoga?2022-08-24T16:20:20-06:00

It is usually recommended not to eat a heavy meal within two hours of a yoga class. Too much food in your belly can make twists, forward bends, and inversions quite uncomfortable and even nauseating for you. If you are hungry, eat something light, like some fruit, a handful of nuts, or a health bar about 30 minutes before practice.

What is your cancellation policy?2022-08-24T16:20:53-06:00

If you need to cancel your registration for a workshop or event, full refunds are available until 1 week before the event. 50% refunds are available between 2 and 6 days prior to the event. Sorry, no refunds if cancelled within 24 hours of the event. No exceptions!

What do you recommend to clean my yoga mat?2022-08-24T16:30:26-06:00

If you are looking for a natural way to clean your yoga mats, this is a recipe that I have been using for my Jade, Calyana, and other yoga mats.  It keeps your mat sticky and provides a pleasant and calming scent.  Enjoy!

1/4 cup Water
1/4 cup Witch Hazel
10 drops Tea Tree Oil
6 drops Lavender Oil
