“Having practiced yoga for quite some time, as well as being a horsewoman, I already understood the value of balance, focus and feel. And as much as I respect Danny as a yoga instructor, I didn’t think there would be much new for me to learn on my horse. I went to be social. Danny’s exercises gave me a deeper, more-relaxed and aware connection in my seat than I have ever experienced! And with the breathing exercises, I found that I was able to get out of my horse’s way and truly follow him so that he could move more freely. These were the things my trainers have been trying to teach me! And it came about almost effortlessly with Danny. I had no idea how this ‘Equestrian Yoga’ would improve my riding. And it was FUN! When do we get to do it again?!”- Cath W.
I’ve been going to Danny’s Equestrian yoga for several years now and have always enjoyed it. It has strengthened me and my horse’s bond mentally and physically. . Danny is an excellent instructor no matter age, gender, physical ability Danny will work with each person’s/horse’s limitations.” – Shantie M.
“I had never practiced Yoga. I have a few medical issues (who doesn’t?), Danny made me feel comfortable and helped me with my issues. The environment is welcoming to ALL. I count my blessings on finding Ashva Yoga!”
“Equestrian Yoga was terrific experience. Danny ‘s approach was innovative and knowledgeable.”
“I have been doing Equine yoga with Danny for about 7 years. It has completely transformed my relationships with my horse into something entirely different: more connected and a truer partnership. It has been the best thing I have found for me and my horses. I have learned how to open and unlock my pelvis, which allows me a deeper seat and also better leg position while I am in the saddle. I am more balanced as I have been able to open up areas such as my chest and back. It has helped me learn to control my breathing and decrease stress. Most importantly, it helps me develop a deeper relationship with my horses.
As an active competitor, all of these are important, and I use them in and out of the arena to be the best partner I can for my horses. Before equine yoga, I was not able to move as well or be at the right place for them to be able to do their job well. Now, we have a better connection and my horses know that I will be able to be where I need to be so they can do their job. I am not getting in their way and they are not having to compensate for me. We each trust the other to do our parts to help the other. We are also more in tune with each other, so I am able to feel their energy and know when they need me to change mine. Really, this has been the best overall training and practice that I have acquired to move my relationship with my horse into the next level.” – Leslie G.
“My first equestrian yoga class with Ashva Yoga was a new and fun experience with a horse that I wasn’t expecting. Not only did Danny teach us how to do yoga poses on and with our horse, but she also taught us how to listen and connect with ourselves while on the horse. Actively being aware of my breathing while riding and staying relaxed in the saddle were the two things that stand out to me. It is really amazing how the horse responds to the rider when you focus on these techniques.” – Amy D.
